Hengtai is one of the first firms qualified for securities business with the approvals from the Department of Justice and the China Securities Regulatory Commission. It is designated by Shanghai Securities Industry Association as a "law firm providing legal service to members". Since 1998, Hengtai has been providing general legal services for the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE), and dispatching lawyers to the SSE on an on-going basis. Since 2007, Hengtai has been providing general legal services for the China Financial Futures Exchange. In 2020, Hengtai joined the Yangtze River Delta Capital Market Service Base Alliance, an institution jointly established by the SSE and the Pudong New Area Government.
